Where does a Nexon pick up chips and scratches?
The Nexon is often a first SUV, bought new and driven everywhere: office traffic during the week, the expressway or the ghats at the weekend. That mix decides where the damage lands.
On the 2023-on Nexon, the front has two levels. Slim LED DRLs sit along the bonnet line, and the main headlamps sit low in the bumper. So the bonnet’s leading edge and the whole bumper face, lamps included, take the stones thrown up by the car ahead. Behind the front wheels, gravel flicked by the tyres chips the painted strip just above the black cladding.
Then there are the parking marks: mirror caps against basement pillars, bumper corners against kerbs, and fingernail crescents in the door-handle cups. None of these is dramatic on its own, but within a year or two they add up.
Pune’s monsoon adds a layer of its own. Muddy spray coats the lower doors and the rear bumper for weeks at a time, and wiping it off dry drags grit across the paint. A coated or filmed surface rinses clean with a hose and needs far less rubbing. Fewer wash scratches means the gloss lasts longer.
Front PPF, full PPF or ceramic: what suits your Nexon?
| Option | What it covers | Best for | Typical studio time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ceramic coating only | Gloss and easy washing on all the paint. Won’t stop stone chips | City Nexons, or a first step on a tight budget | 1–3 days |
| Front PPF + ceramic | Film on the full bonnet, bumper, headlamps, mirrors and door cups; ceramic on the rest | Daily driving with regular highway runs | 2–3 days |
| Full-body PPF | Film on every painted panel | A new Nexon you plan to keep for years | 3–5 working days |
We confirm the exact time when you book. To compare the two approaches in depth, read PPF vs ceramic coating.
Upgrading Nexon headlamps
Nexons built before the September 2023 facelift came with halogen headlamps, and many owners want more light on unlit roads. The facelift switched to LED headlamps from the base Smart trim up. For the older car, our plug-and-play LED fix for Tata cars connects to the existing fittings, so nobody cuts into the factory wiring. Which unit suits yours depends on its year and variant.
We fit every LED upgrade for a correctly aimed, road-appropriate white beam with no blinding colours, so oncoming drivers aren’t dazzled. We check the headlamp aim after fitting.
On older Nexons without a touchscreen, an Android system adds maps and phone mirroring. A dashcam is worth considering too if the car spends hours in traffic. Either can go in during the same visit as the film or coating.
Our Nexon work
One of our recent reels is a Nexon PPF handover at the PinkStudio. Another shows the Tata LED upgrade. Both are linked on this page.
A Nexon that’s only weeks old usually needs little more than a light polish before film. We still wash, decontaminate and inspect it under the studio lights first, so you see any chips or swirls before they’re sealed in. The car then cures indoors, and at handover we explain when to wash it and how.
Film and coating warranties come from the manufacturer and depend on the grade you choose. Our warranty page sets out the published terms.
