Maruti Dzire Ceramic Coating & PPF in Pune

On a Maruti Dzire, the low front bumper, bonnet, door edges and door-handle cups take most of the damage. Ceramic coating alone suits many family and fleet Dzires; adding PPF to the bonnet and bumper is the next step up. Ceramic typically takes 1–3 days and front PPF 1–2 days at our PinkStudio in Mangalwar Peth, Pune.

Where it needs protection

  1. 1

    Front bumper

Low and close to the road, so it takes stone chips, kerb scrapes and parking taps.

  2. 2

    Bonnet

Low and sloping, it faces the grit thrown up by trucks and buses on highway runs.

  3. 3

    Door edges

Four doors opened many times a day, more so if the car carries passengers, and the edges chip against walls and other cars.

  4. 4

    Door-handle cups

Passengers' rings and keys mark the recess behind each handle, and on a car opened all day the marks pile up fast.

  5. 5

    Mirror caps (ORVMs)

Brushed by two-wheelers filtering through Pune traffic and scraped in narrow lanes.

  6. 6

Rear bumper top and boot lip

Luggage goes in and out of the boot constantly, and the bumper takes taps in reverse parking.

  7. 7

    Headlamps on older Dzires

Older lenses turn yellow and hazy in the sun. Restoration is an alternative to replacing them.

Where does a Dzire take damage?

The Dzire is one of India’s most common sedans. Some are family cars, some earn their keep as cabs. Whichever yours is, the damage follows the same pattern.

The nose is low, so the front bumper takes kerb scrapes, parking taps and stone chips all at once. The bonnet slopes down toward the road and catches grit from the trucks and buses ahead on a highway run. Along the sides, door edges and handle cups wear fastest, because four doors open many times a day. If you carry passengers, that wear speeds up.

None of this needs a premium SUV package. It needs the right protection in the right places, at a sensible spend.

Is a new Dzire worth protecting straight away?

If yours is the fourth-generation Dzire, launched in November 2024, the paint is still close to factory fresh. That’s the cheapest moment to protect it. A new car usually needs only a light polish before coating or film, so you pay to protect paint, not to correct it. Wait a couple of years and the same job often starts with removing wash swirls and minor scratches first.

If your Dzire works for a living

A car that does a full day of trips gets washed often and opened constantly. Ceramic coating means each wash is quicker, with less scrubbing that leaves swirl marks. Clear film in the door-handle cups and on the door edges deals with the marks passengers leave. Inside, durable seat covers take the daily wear so the original upholstery doesn’t. A hardwired dashcam gives you a record of every trip.

Older Dzire? Restore before you replace

If your Dzire is a few years old, it may not need new parts at all. Yellowed headlamp lenses and kerbed alloys can often be restored. Older Dzires without a touchscreen can take an Android system for navigation and phone mirroring. A fresh ceramic coat after a polish can bring back much of the paint’s gloss.

Before any of this, we wash and decontaminate the car and check the paint under the PinkStudio’s lights. If there are swirls or chips, you see them before the coating or film goes over them.

Frequently asked

Is PPF worth it on a Dzire, or is ceramic coating enough?

For many Dzires, ceramic coating is enough. It adds gloss, makes washing quicker and helps against bird droppings and water spots. If the car does a lot of highway driving, add PPF to the bonnet and front bumper, where most stone chips land. Full-body PPF is rarely the value pick on a Dzire, but it's there if you want it.

I run my Dzire as a cab. What protection makes sense?

Think about daily wear more than show shine. Ceramic coating means quicker washes with less scrubbing. Film in the door-handle cups and on the door edges deals with the most frequent passenger marks. Durable seat covers protect the interior, and a dashcam gives you a record of every trip. We'll suggest a plan that fits how many kilometres the car does.

Will ceramic coating make my Dzire scratch-proof?

No. The 9H or 10H you see advertised refers to a pencil-hardness test and is a marketing number, not a scratch-proof guarantee. What coating does is make the paint easier to clean, so you scrub less and leave fewer wash marks. For chips and scrapes, PPF is the answer.

Can you restore the yellow headlamps on my older Dzire?

Usually, yes. Yellowing is mostly the outer layer of the lens weathering in the sun. It can often be sanded back, polished and protected instead of replacing the lamps. We look at the lens first and tell you honestly if it's too far gone.

How long does coating last on a Dzire?

It depends on the coating grade you choose and how the car is washed. A coating on a car that is washed gently lasts far longer than one put through rough brushes. Or, as many ask us, coating kiti varsha tikta? We explain the manufacturer's terms for the product you pick before we start.
